Through the generous support of the community, Charlotte Family Housing (CFH) is able to provide supportive shelter and housing for homeless families.

How your monetary gift helps support families:
• $50 provides a parent one month of transportation to work
• $125 provides one week of financial assistance for child care
• $250 provides a family one month of support with a Masters-level social worker
• $400 supports one parent in a ten-week “Getting Ahead” workshop
• $700 provides a computer to help advance the education needs of the children and parents
• $3,000 provides a family one year of support with a Masters-level social worker

In-kind support:
• Welcome baskets are given to families as they come in to the shelter.  Baskets contain items such as twin/full sheets, towels, washcloths, toiletries, pots & pans and other kitchen items.
• Graduation baskets are given to the families as they move out of the shelter into affordable housing. Baskets contain items such as a mop, dust pan, broom and other cleaning supplies.
• Other items that can be collected and distributed to the residents include small appliances (toaster ovens, coffeemakers, microwaves), dishes, glassware, silverware, storage containers, and vacuum cleaners.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Whether you give an hour preparing a meal, tutoring a child, planting flowers, or making a long-term commitment to walk alongside a family on a Hope Team, your time is greatly appreciated and makes a difference in the lives of the families we support.  Opportunities to support CFH are plentiful.
