Volunteer

Through the generous support of community volunteers, Charlotte Family Housing (CFH) is able to provide supportive transitional shelter and affordable housing for homeless families.

Shelter will be provided for 15 families at our Plaza Place location at 2410 The Plaza. Groups are needed to organize activities such as craft projects, pizza and movie night, Wii game time, or cookie baking. Volunteers can also assist with tutoring children or providing computer instruction. Landscaping, flower planting, and vegetable garden creation/maintenance are also needed volunteer activities.

Hope Teams— Lisa Howell, LHowell@CharlotteFamilyHousing.org, 704-335-5488, ext. 2118;
Laura Marett, LMarett@CharlotteFamilyHousing.org , 704-335-5488, ext. 2119;
Wanda Anderson, WAnderson@CharlotteFamilyHousing.org , 704-335-5488, ext. 2117
For volunteers interested in long-term engagement with a family moving from homelessness to housing, Hope Teams provide that opportunity. Hope Teams are comprised of 4-6 persons generally from the same faith community or organization. Each team is matched with one family to provide support and encouragement by building relationships as guided by the CFH Social Worker and the Hope Team Manager. Volunteers are required to attend a Bridges out of Poverty training session.
